As a premier teacher preparation program in Ohio, the College of Education focuses on developing the very best teachers and administrators – those who understand the nature of learning, values teamwork and collaboration, embraces social and cultural diversity, and looks to solve the challenges that the education profession brings.

We bring together the best of two worlds; extensive comprehensive education programs within an environment where “accent on the individual” means personalized educational experiences for students. No matter whether students are in undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral level programs, they will find small class sizes, faculty who know them by name, and programs that are based on a combination of theory and practice.

Undergraduates will find 4-year programs that are really completed in 4 years, with opportunities to complete their internships in schools located across the world or in the southern U.S. Two plus two programs with Lorain County Community College and Columbus State Community College enable students from across the state to earn an Ashland degree.

Graduate students have access to programs highly sought after in Ohio schools, including endorsements in the areas of TESOL, Reading, Teacher Leader, Technology Facilitator, and Gifted Education.
